This is a truck, but what it is that makes its truckness so clear ?
Is it the number of wheels (6, 8)? Is it the number of engines (1)? Is it the Jake brake that goes BRAAAAAPPP BRAAAAPP BOP BOP BRAAAP waking you up in the middle of the night ?
What is it that makes a thing a truck ?

It is a vehicle who’s design purpose is to carry cargo. Same way a vehicle primary designed to carry large numbers of passengers is a bus.
Done.

‘Truck’ comes from the Old English word for a solid wooden wheel. I think it implies carrying the kind of load which requires a strong wheel.

A truck is a vehicle designed to transport cargo/goods or carry out a specific job (I.E a Firetruck or similar). They can be small, they can be large, some have airbrakes some don’t. A tractor unit isn’t a truck pr se, but it still is since it’s designed to pull cargo or equipment designed to do a specific job.
That’s how I see it.

This truck technically has 4 wheels.

That has an independent suspension.

The Countach is a Tractor

I would call this a tractor. It is a dedicated tow vehicle and unable to carry a payload by itself. Just being pedantic :)

That is correct.

Offset cab, giant cylindrical air filter, cast (?) hub bolted to a separate rim. That’s not just a truck, that’s an 80’s truck.
